Get an Anthropic API key at console.anthropic.com — pay only for what you use, typically a few cents per session. Paste it once, and Draft Desk handles everything from there. Your key lives in browser memory only and clears when you close the tab.

Pick from tags like Warm, Confident, Professional, or Playful — or type anything. The companion uses this as a benchmark for tone analysis. Or skip it and let Draft Desk detect your register automatically.

Grammar fixes happen as you type. After a few sentences, tone analysis and ideas start building up in the Editor Notes panel. You can apply, dismiss, or ignore them completely.

What does it cost?

Draft Desk is free to use. The only cost is your Anthropic API usage — which you control entirely.

You connect your own Anthropic API key. Draft Desk makes AI calls on your behalf — you pay Anthropic directly for what you use. Most writing sessions cost a few cents. There's no Draft Desk subscription, no monthly fee, and no usage cap on our end.

API keys are available at console.anthropic.com. New accounts include a small credit to start. Usage costs vary by model and session length — longer writing sessions with more AI features active cost slightly more. You're always in control.
