Privacy Policy
Your writing never leaves your device. That's the whole policy, really — but here's the full version.
What Draft Desk does
Draft Desk is a browser-based writing tool that uses the Anthropic API to provide AI writing assistance. The app runs entirely in your browser. There is no Draft Desk server that processes, stores, or transmits your writing.
Your writing
Your text stays on your device. Everything you write is stored in your browser's localStorage. It is never sent to Draft Desk servers — because there are no Draft Desk servers involved in the writing process.
When you use AI features (grammar correction, tone analysis, suggestions, Transform), your text is sent directly from your browser to the Anthropic API using your own API key. That transmission is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
Your API key
- Your Anthropic API key is held in browser memory only during your session.
- It is never stored to localStorage, cookies, or any server.
- It is cleared when you close the tab.
- It is never sent to anyone except Anthropic's API endpoint (api.anthropic.com).
Email signup
If you submit your email address via the "Get updates" form on the landing page, that email is stored via Netlify Forms. It is used only to send occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or contacting hello@draftdesk.cloud.
We do not sell, share, or use your email address for advertising.
Analytics
Draft Desk may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible Analytics) to understand aggregate usage — how many people visit the landing page, which features are used, and whether the app loads correctly. This collects no personally identifiable information and uses no cookies. No individual user is tracked.
Cookies and local storage
Draft Desk uses browser localStorage to save your documents, preferences, and settings locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. There are no tracking cookies.
Children
Draft Desk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Draft Desk after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
